About Denyce B.

It’s Nice To Meet You

I am many things. A caregiver, a daughter, a twin. I am a genuine food lover (have been for longer than I can even remember). I’m also an enthusiastic educator, passionate counselor and advocate who is all about empowering who I can to live a healthy, fulfilled life.

I decided that I had a passion for health and helping people when I was very young. Growing up in a house of many ailments, I eventually saw the parallel between what we choose to eat and how we show up in the world. From fatigue to inflamed eczema to high blood glucose numbers.

I decided to dive deep into this passion when I chose to become my grandmother’s caregiver. By this time, I’ve had exposure to Diabetes, Hypertension, Congestive Heart Failure and End Stage Chronic Kidney Disease. Talk about a complex case! It wasn’t until I researched about what should be limited (AND THE REASONS WHY) that I finally understood just the power our food holds. This responsibility confirmed my passions and propelled me to go back to school, enroll into a strenuous Dietetic Program, endure a laborious Dietetic Internship Program and finally pass the daunting Registration Examination for Dietitians.

It’s been a LONG journey, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Why? Because now, I am here to help you.

WHY METABOLIC HEALTH?

I think the better question is… WHY NOT??? Here’s a fun fact: I’ve been surrounded by Diabetes all my life AND I had my own experience with Prediabetes at one point. But metabolic health is more than Diabetes and the accumulation of belly fat. Metabolic Health is the way our bodies are able to process and generate ENERGY. And here’s a little sneak peak into my conversations with clients: SO MUCH AFFECTS OUR METABOLISM.. from stress to deficiencies to the sleep we get. I love helping my clients analyze habits and make small changes that make the world of a difference (such as controlled blood sugar readings)

WHY GUT HEALTH?

Here’s a peak into my personal life: I remember having GI issues since I was in middle school (and probably before then). Between the embarrassing to the annoying symptoms, I’ve gotten so frustrated with my stomach. When I actually began listening to my body AND BEGAN RESEARCHING what was going on, I finally started to get relief. I want to be the tool that I didn’t have when I was younger. I love analyzing the diet to find the intolerance, sensitivities and allergies that no one thought to consider. I also enjoy helping my clients actually understand their bodies and the tools that are super helpful in supporting it.
